IN ADDITION TO THE GENERAL GUIDELINES LISTED IN THE AFOREMENTIONED ARTICLE, PLAYERS ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THESE SUPPLEMENTARY GUIDELINES, WHILE PLAYING STAR WARS GALAXIES™. WHILE BY NO MEANS AN ALL-INCLUSIVE LIST OF THE DO’S AND DON’TS IN STAR WARS GALAXIES™, IT PROVIDES A SUITABLE FOUNDATION BY WHICH THE PLAYER CAN DETERMINE WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE APPROPRIATE:
- Again, foul language is not permitted, in any language.
Excessive use of foul language in appropriate context, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, and other language that is not consistent with the fantasy environment and designed to hurt, will be considered a disruption. The existence of any chat/text filtering function is not a license to be profane. - To expand upon the general guidelines, you may not harass other players.
Harassment is defined as specifically targeting another player or group of other players to harm or inconvenience them. Harassment can take many forms, as it goes to the state of mind of the person or group of persons, on the receiving end, of the action. However, in order to account for those who are more sensitive than others, the GM Staff will make a determination as to whether or not the reported issue, would be considered harassment, and then act accordingly.
Sexual Harassment, Racial Harassment, or hate-mongering of any kind, will result in disciplinary action being taken against player accounts, which may or may not lead up to and including Official Warnings, Account Suspensions, or Account Termination, depending on the severity of the incident, and at the discretion of GM Staff. - Sexual Harassment, Racial Harassment, or Hate Mongering of any kind, will result in disciplinary action being taken against player accounts, which may or may not lead up to and including Official Warnings, Account Suspensions, or Account Termination, depending on the severity of the incident, and at the discretion of GM Staff.
Area Disruption is defined as any activity, intentional or unintentional, which harms or inconveniences a small, medium, or large number of players. Disruption Activities include, but are not limited to, such things, such as:
- Deliberately blocking a doorway or narrow area, so that players can not get past. Making excessive and inappropriate use of spatial communications, i.e. spamming.
- Placing any object (such as pets, droids, structures, city facilities) which prevents access to game content (anything in-game, including city structures, houses, caves, mission terminals, etc.) or trap other customers.
- Organizing, holding, or participating in protests held in high-traffic areas (such as busy Starports, or other areas where many players would normally gather.
Causing a disruption may result in disciplinary action being taken against player accounts, which may or may not lead up to and including Official Warnings, Account Suspensions, or Account Termination, depending on the severity of the incident, and at the discretion of GM Staff.
- YOU MAY NOT DEFRAUD OTHER PLAYERS OR MEMBERS OF STAFF.
FRAUD IS DEFINED AS FALSELY REPRESENTING ONE'S INTENTIONS IN ORDER TO MAKE A GAIN AT ANOTHER'S EXPENSE. EXAMPLES OF THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, OFFERING TO CRAFT A WEAPON WITH A BUILT-IN POWERBIT FOR ANOTHER PLAYER, AND THEN KEEPING BOTH OF THE COMPONENT, THE WEAPON, AND CREDITS, AS WELL AS USING THE INHERENT FLAWS IN THE SECURE TRADE WINDOW IN ORDER TO DEPRIVE ANOTHER PLAYER OF ONE OR MORE OF THEIR ITEMS OR CREDITS. OTHER EXAMPLES INCLUDE SELLING DISABLED VEHICLES, RENAMING ITEMS AND SELLING THEM AS A DIFFERENT ITEM, OR VIOLATING ANY TRADE AGREEMENT (SUCH AS AGREEING TO CRAT AN ITEM FOR RESOURCES BUT KEEPING BOTH THE ITEM AS WELL AS THE RESOURCES). THESE EXAMPLES ARE NOT ALL INCLUSIVE, OTHER VIOLATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED AND THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED BY GM STAFF AND ADMINISTRATORS.
IN ORDER FOR STAFF TO PROPERLY INVESTIGATE, ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED AND THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO: CHAT LOGS OF CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS, AND ANY SCREENSHOTS OF AGREEMENTS AND COMPLETED CRAFTS. IF ANY COMPLAINT IS MISSING ANY REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION, STAFF NOT INTERVENE.
ONCE AN INVESTIGATION IS CONCLUDED AND GUILTY PARTY IS CONVICTED, DEFRAUDING OTHER PLAYERS WILL RESULT IN THE REMOVAL OF ANY AND ALL EARNINGS OR EQUIVALENT GOODS FROM PLAYER ACCOUNT(S) AND MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION TAKEN AGAINST PLAYER ACCOUNT(S), WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT LEAD UP TO AND INCLUDING OFFICIAL WARNINGS, ACCOUNT SUSPENSIONS, OR ACCOUNT TERMINATION, DEPENDING ON THE SEVERITY OF THE INCIDENT(S), AND AT THE DISCRETION OF GM SUPPORT STAFF. - You may not operate a Player Association (Guild) that habitually violates these rules.
Disciplinary issues involving Player Associations will also be addressed on a broader basis. Player Associations, whose members, habitually violate any of the Terms of Services, Rules of Conduct, or Community Policies, may be disbanded, with or without warning. In addition, monopolizing numerous spawn areas, with the intent to exclude other players will not be permitted. If investigated and verified by GM Staff, monopolizing may result in the disbanding of a Player Association. As stated in section eight (8) of the Rules of Conduct, which states that Player Association Leaders who condone, participate in, or knowingly allow such action, may be held accountable for the actions his or her members. - You may not intentionally circumvent the Player Vs. Player Combat features and causes another player to die, such as by “training” them.
Training is defined as pulling or leading a hostile NPC or creature along behind you, and then attempting to get said NPC or creature to attack another player, who does not desire said engagement.
The intentional training of NPC’s or Creatures will result in disciplinary action being taken against player accounts, which may or may not lead up to and including Official Warnings, Account Suspensions or Account Termination, depending on the severity of the incident, and at the discretion of GM Staff. - You may not abuse players, GM Staff, or the Tools provided to request support.
- The act of being Away From Keyboard (AFK) across the entirety of SWG: Vision of Hope is prohibited in areas that involve a quest or quest line, i.e. Legacy or anywhere else that is part of a quest or series of quests. Any player farming an area that is part of a quest or series of quests must give way to players coming through for the related quest or series of quests. Any players suspected of or found in violation of this policy will be removed from the area by GM Staff.
- Role Playing or Testing does not grant a license to violate these rules.
Though Star Wars Galaxies™ is a roleplaying game set in the Star Wars Universe, the claim of “roleplay” or “testing” will not be accepted in defense of any of the anti-social behaviors mentioned above. As an example, you are in no case (PvP or otherwise) allowed to “train” a guard onto an enemy in protection of your homeland.
By all means, we want to encourage you to play your role, we just cannot allow that roleplay to be done at another player’s expense.
